SpotDraft: the Bengaluru contract platform that sells to the business user, not the lawyer

A profile of the Indian name on every in-house contract shortlist: what it does, who buys it, and where it is heading.

By The editors 18 Oct 26 1 min read

SpotDraft was founded in 2017 in Bengaluru by Shashank Bijapur and Madhav Bhagat, a lawyer and an engineer. The product is a contract lifecycle platform: templates, an intake form for the business, a review workflow for legal, e-signature and a searchable repository.

Who buys it

Mid-sized companies with a legal team of one to ten people. The pitch is to the sales, HR and procurement teams who request contracts, as much as to the lawyers who draft them. The intake form is the feature customers name first.

How it charges

Per seat. Requesters are cheap or free, creators are the paid seats. No published price; quotes on a call.

Where it is heading

The company has added AI review and clause suggestion features and now sells in the United States as well as India. Its competition at the top end is Ironclad and Juro; at the bottom end it is Word plus email.

Facts above are from the company's own site and public filings, read on 18 October 2026. Funding is not shown because the company has not published a consolidated figure.
